David’s art interests began at Flint Community College, DeWaters Art Institute from 1959 to1961. Since retirement in 2001, he has actively resumed his role in the art Community. Currently serving on three art boards, his works are represented In Sault Sainte Marie by Sault Realism and the Art Store.

For many years, David worked with pen and ink, producing drawings for the Local Century 21 Real Estate Company. In 2004, he took watercolor painting lessons, followed by soft pastel painting in 2005. A winner of seven awards from 2004 through 2010 through the Annual Sault Summer Arts Festival, he also received a Purchase Prize from Escanaba’s Northern Exposure annual exhibit in 2008. In 2005 he received the Best of Show at the first annual DeTour Village Fine Arts Festival.

When not participating in gallery exhibits, David is busy participating in summer arts festivals throughout Northern Michigan. Throughout the year David conducts watercolor journaling workshops throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
